Summary/Abstract: Stories are a derivative of children’s imagination, hence the key role between children’s literature and psychology, that is, books as a generator of children’s creativity. Creativity is a tendency to generate or recognize ideas, alternatives, or possibilities that can be useful in solving problems and communicating with others. Creativity is closely related to an individual’s personality and emotional life and involves much more than just thinking skills. In the early period of life, it is especially important what content children are exposed to - literary, artistic, media. This paper deals with the influence of literature on the socio-emotional development of children and the shaping of personality. The text aims to critically analyze some of the stories we are exposed to in childhood, specifically the books The Hedgehog’s Wish (Tri, 2021) by Toon Tellegen, Hippopotamus Wisdom (Tri, 2021) by Peter Svetina and The Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig (Tri, 2021) by Evgenios Trivizas.
