History Politics of the Government of the Republic of Poland on the Example of the Activities of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage (2015–2023)

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to analyse selected aspects of the history politics of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage (MKiDN) in the period 2015–2023. Therefore, the concept of history politics was defined, as well as its functions, and the typologies of the instruments used were given. Then, a catalogue of the basic ideological values of the ruling Law and Justice party was defined, as well as the resulting goals of history politics and its determinants. Selected instruments of history pol-itics implementation by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage were analysed. As a result, it was established that the key determinants of this politics were: Polonocentrism, Messianism, em-phasizing the role of Catholicism and the Church, martyrdom, and promoting a steadfast attitude
