Summary/Abstract: The pandemic period and the related restrictions on establishing direct contacts resulted in the need for more frequent interpersonal interactions using indirect contact. Such restrictions also covered professional activities provided by psychologists. Although remote methods of work were present in the work of mental health professionals before, at the time of the pandemic and during the post-pandemic stage their use was signifi cantly intensifi ed. Online work has become a permanent part of the offer of psychological offi ces, more often than before the pandemic it is also included in an empirical research. The main aim of the article is a theoretical analysis of problems connected with fulfi lling professional tasks and providing psychological services remotely. The specifi city of a psychologist’s work was examined, attention was paid to problems related to diagnostic activities, and tasks connected with providing support and psychological help. The data on conducting empirical research was also verifi ed. The conclusions drawn on the basis of the literature review indicate that remote work techniques can be successfully used in each of the above mentioned areas, but it is important to be careful in this respect when it comes to interpreting the results obtained on the basis of online work. In addition, the remote form of work of a psychologist requires the maintenance of certain initial conditions to ensure the participants of these interactions a sense of security and intimacy.
