Summary/Abstract: Current trends in art education increasingly highlight the importance of the process of creation itself and the disadvantages of too much emphasis on the final product of the pupil. It is questionable, however, to what extent these assumptions, which appear to be genuinely effective, are being translated into pedagogical practice. The aim of this paper will be to present the basic theoretical background and describe the different stages of the process of creating an artwork, but at the same time to present selected educational situations from pedagogical practice using the 3A methodology. Through these educational situations we want to highlight the current state of art education in selected schools and offer a tool for reflection on the quality of art education, which could become an inspiration for pedagogical practice and offer an adequate procedure for the use of procedural art education and compliance with the individual phases of the process of creation in art education at the primary level.
