The reasons why the social community decided to establish a four-year study program at the Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Belgrade, in the 1973/74 academic year were highlighted. From the presented curriculum, it is evident that the approach was interdisciplinary a quality that has been maintained to this day and is a condicio sine qua non for the high-quality education of social workers. The first generation was characterized by enthusiasm, dedication to their studies, and a willingness to address emerging issues, inevitable when introducing something new in practice and theory, in collaboration with exceptionally conscientious, fair, and responsible professors and the then administration of the Faculty.
