Summary/Abstract: The article describes the visits of Count Alexei Sergeevich Uvarov (1824-1884) to Olbia in the years 1848 and 1853. During the first visit, undertaken as part of a scientific excursion to the northwestern part of the Black Sea region, A.S. Uvarov examined the ruins of Olbia, collected information about the tumuli discovered near it. He published these data in the first volume of "Research on the Antiquities of South Russia and the Black Sea Coast" (1851). In addition, thanks to the participation in the respective excursion of the professional painter Moritz Bogdanovich Webel (1821-1875), images of Olbia were painted in watercolor. Also, at the instructions of A.S. Uvarov, two plans of the Olbia fortress and its surroundings were made, which are of great scientific interest. In 1853, A.S. Uvarov excavated six tumuli discovered in the southern part of the Olbia necropolis, near the Wide Gable, which turned out to have been looted. In addition, several wells were drilled in the lower town of Olbia, in its southern part. Unfortunately, there is very little information about these excavations. As a separate topic, the research carried out by A.S.Uvarov in 1848 of the tumuli "Malaya Katarzha Tomb", located on the top of the plateau formed by the shore of the Budak bay and the Shabalat bay, 2.5 km southwest of the village of Belenkoe (Shabalat) and 3.4 km northwest of the Black Sea, is presented for the first time.
