Summary/Abstract: Although it seemed that it would never cease to exist, the Roman Empire would suffer huge losses starting with the third century AD, when some warriors of Germanic origin, the Goths, made the first incursions into its territory. This study focuses on the confrontations that took place between the Goths and the Romans between the 3rd and 4th centuries, as they were told in the works of the authors contemporary with the events.
