Summary/Abstract: The causative agents of infections that can occur during the provision of health care are various microorganisms, and the most common are bacteria, viruses and fungi. The ways of spread of infection can be different, the most important are direct and indirect contact. All health institutions are obliged to implement measures to prevent the occurrence of infections when providing health care. It is necessary for healthcare professionals to apply infection control measures to every patient. The research was carried as a cross-sectional study using a questionnaire, which was developed according to the international standards of occupational safety and hand hygiene by author Marie-Pierre Tavolacci and associates, on the knowledge, attitudes and practices of health professionals on infections associated with the provision of health services in one part of health center in the area of Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The research was conducted by gender, age group, length of service, and the results showed satisfactory knowledge in all areas except for the part about standard precautions at work and indications for hand disinfection with antiseptics, where most incorrect answers were expressed.
