Summary/Abstract: This article is a voice in the scientific polemic regarding legal regulations regarding the qualifica-tions of managers of medical entities who are not entrepreneurs in Poland. The discourse on theproper management of healthcare entities has been ongoing for many years. This issue is currentand complex. It covers many aspects, including legal, social, financial and economic. The mainscope of considerations in this study is the analysis of statutory criteria applicable to the position ofmanager (director) of a healthcare entity, the procedure for selecting the appropriate candidate forthis position by the competition committees, and an attempt to formulate demands for changingthe applicable legal provisions. To conclude, it should be stated that the proper selection of a candi-date for a manager is crucial not only for the proper operation of a given healthcare entity, but alsoconstitutes an important component of the functioning of the entire health care system.
