Summary/Abstract: The paper brings a history of a trial that arose from the tax collection in Szatmár and Németi in the Szatmár county (today Satu Mare in Romania). The Szatmár county belonged to the Serbian despot Stefan Lazarević, who was the feudal lord of Szatmár and Németi. The available sources about the trial shed light on the names of some almost unknown officers of the Serbian despots. Moreover, we gain a wider picture of the administrative practice in a part of the Serbian despots’ estates in the period when they belonged to despot Stefan.
