Summary/Abstract: The structure and some parameters dynamic of the phytocoenoses have been studied on the subalpine and alpine belt of the mountain Crvanj in Herzegovina. The vegetation of subalpine and alpine pastures on carbonate can be differentiated in to the following communities: Seslerietum tenuifoliae hercegovinum Lakušić 1969, Edraiantho-Veronicetum satureoidis Lakušić e t al. 1973, Carici laevi-Heiianthemetum balcanici a n d Festucetum bosniacae Ht 1930. The pastures on silicates has been presented by the community Gentianello-Nardetum slriciae Redžić 1991, and vegetation around sheepfolds and summer pastures by the community Chaerophyllo-Rumicetum alpini ass. nova.
