Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to analyse the political achievements of Ambedkar and his role in shaping India’s political system in the late 1950s and 1960s. It examines his political philosophy based on the numerous publications he left behind and provides an overview of the reformist ideas and socio-political demands he consistently advocated throughout his life. Special attention is given to Ambedkar’s efforts on behalf of those excluded and discriminated against based on caste (jāti).
