Summary/Abstract: The Enlightenment PEOPLE concept changed to the one of NATION through the events and persons of the Hungarian Revolution of 1848–49, such as the efforts of the martyr Imre Szacsvay from Nagyvárad, and soon the development of a new discipline, Hungarian studies – ethnography – began following European examples.
