Summary/Abstract: Anthologies provide an overview of authors, literary trends, epochs and genres, focus on motifs and themes and follow a literary‑political, national‑literary or ideological logic. The selection suggests representativeness and orientation. In multilingual societies in particular, anthologies have an integrative‑exclusive function; the intention is to valorize the own and to differentiate from the foreign. In contrast, however, they also serve a crossborder cultural exchange and are thus part of literary transfer processes. The strategies of cultural transfer are analyzed using the example of German‑language anthologies in the Bohemian Lands in the modern era.
