THE PRAYER FOR THE BABY UNTIL THE 40TH DAY

Summary/Abstract: There are differing views on how parents should care for their newborn baby up to the 40th day and beyond. While the medical and other material aspects of caregiving are numerous and abundant in the literature, the spiritual perspective of the newborn human soul is often neglected. In this article, we look at some basic approaches to introducing prayer into a baby's life. With the first days of his birth, the parents find that their life has changed, and with this change they are given a wonderful opportunity to pay special attention to the spiritual in later life – prayer.
