Summary/Abstract: Ecological and energy security is associated with ensuring the supply of energy carriers, the use of which is associated with the limitation of greenhouse gas emissions, in par-ticular CO2. There is a move away from fossil fuels to alternative fuels, particularly hy-drogen, taking into account, among other things, the legislative actions of the EuropeanUnion. A prerequisite for the implementation of this approach is for companies to haveaccess to new technologies with a high degree of maturity, taking into account environ-mental aspects (LCA, life cycle assessment) and the life cycle costs of technology coveringthe acquisition of technology, its operation and divestment. The basics of technology ma-turity assessment methods TRL, SDT and CRI are given. The importance of technologymanagement is discussed. The article addresses two research questions about tech-nology management: 1. what is the state of maturity of hydrogen technologies meetingthe requirements of low emissions in the face of climate change, and 2. what is the pos-sibility of using traditional technologies based on fossil fuels for hydrogen production.
