Summary/Abstract: This paper presents the development of the ARTES Picture Articulation Test, which hasbeen designed to diagnose the phonetic-phonological level of Slovak children. The test, developed within the framework of the VEGA 1/0263/22 project, comprises 74 elicitation items that meet the content validity criteria for controlled phonetic words. The speech sample obtained from the testallows each consonant to be produced at least four times, in at least two different word positions, and in combination with at least two other consonants. The content validity was evaluated by three independent speech-language pathologists and subsequently assessed through correlation coefficient calculations. The Spearman correlation coefficient between the ARTES and Antusek articulation test scores ranged from 0.805 to 0.990. The reliability of the test was determined by calculating thecorrelation coefficient between the first and second ARTES tests. Spearman‘s correlation coefficient sranged from 0.904 to 0.996 across the different domains of interest, indicating a high level of reliability.Additionally, a qualitative assessment of the elicitation items was conducted.
