Summary/Abstract: The present article proposes to highlight specific aspects of the Cantemirian work, present especially in the works from the youth of our great thinker. It is about dealing with the topics of Providence, grace and free will. Their debate mainly comes up in "Sacrosanctae…" and "Divanul…" and they are outlined precisely and independently, revealing the deep Christian side of the Romanian philosopher. The article aims to underline the consistent philosophical elements woven around these major notions, and also to demonstrate in this way that we are justified to consider Cantemir a proper philosopher, whose writings are at the very foundation of the Romanian philosophy.
