Summary/Abstract: The World War II and the first five years that followed were a time characterised by highly diverse forms of migration in the lands granted to Poland by the Potsdam Agreement of 1945. These resulted in a significant change in the demographic composition of the population living in the lands referred to as the Recovered Territories. The aim of the study is to examine the diversity of the migration processes that occurred in these territories (displacements, resettlements, repatriation, re-emigration and economic migration) as well as to indicate their directions and political circumstances. The author presents detailed statistics illustrating the voluntary and forced population movements based on archival sources and literature on the subject.
