Summary/Abstract: In recent years, the amount of data, which yield information on the environment of the Late Vistulian, significant-ly increased. This is a result of increased interest of analyses of biogenic deposits, containing organic remains which allow to reconstruct past environmental conditions. A valuable archive are these profiles of biogenic sediments in which variation in terms of both ecology and morphogenetic processes has been registered. The article overviews these sites of the Łódź region which provide the most complete record and were analysed within the framework of interdisciplinary studies. Attention is drawn to the possibility to reconstruct environmental parameters that give the individual paleoecological analyses. It was pointed that the sites of the Central Poland have an advantage over those from the young morainic area, due to the earlier start of the bioaccumulation.
