Summary/Abstract: The paper is dedicated to the liquidity of banks in the Republic of Bulgaria in the period from 2007 to the end of 2021. This period covers the years of the global financial crisis, the period of post-crisis economic recovery and the period of COVID-19 pandemic. The purpose of the paper is to visualize the fluctuations in the liquidity of the banking system due to the dynamics of the financial markets and the stress in the system caused by the unforeseen circumstances. The main definitions of liquidity and the main regulations and documents concerning bank liquidity are presented. Based on the information from the reports of the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB), findings and conclusions have been made about the state of the Bulgarian banking system from 2007 to the end of 2021. The dynamics of the main balance indicators of the Bulgarian banking system are graphically presented.
