Summary/Abstract: This paper studies the functional income distribution in Bulgaria and its relationship with the economic growth and inequality. The empirical results show that recently there has been a higher share of labor income in GDP than capital income, and a tendency to increase this difference in favor of labor income. This leads to increased structural convergence with the euro area in terms of functional income distribution, but has an adverse effect on economic growth. Moreover, the dynamics in the relative importance of the two factors of production corresponds to an increase in inequality, which gives some indication of the relationship between functional and personal income distribution.
