Summary/Abstract: There are different leadership styles. From practice, the main styles that could help leaders of different organizations are described. Consciously or unconsciously, everyone chooses and practices their own style. Understanding the types of leadership and their impact can enrich everyone's individual style, make it more flexible and effective. There are several main theories dealing with leadership. Behavioral theories emphasize what exactly a leader does and how he behaves. Can we expect cooperation from him, does he involve the team in decision-making, etc. Contingency theories look at how a given situation affects leadership and for which situations what leadership style is appropriate. Trait theories argue that good leaders share a common set of certain characteristics and that leadership is an innate, instinctive quality that people either have or lack. Theories of power and influence are based on the different ways in which leaders use them.
