Summary/Abstract: Over the past decade, Serbia has made significant progress in the areas of asylum and migration, with systemic laws adopted and institutions strengthened despite ongoing regional migration challenges. Civil society organizations, through the PAG network, have played a crucial role in supporting vulnerable migrant groups, particularly women, children, and victims of violence, by offering legal, psychological, and social aid across the country. The 2019 report emphasizes that current migration challenges lie more in migration management than asylum, highlighting a trend of migrants using Serbia primarily as a transit route, often avoiding formal accommodation centers.
