The article includes several conceptual focuses: the personality of Jesus Christ as true God and Man; the differences between birth and creation in relation to Jesus Christ as the Son of God; the question of the possibility of Divine Kennosis in the person of Jesus Christ; the question of the HolyTrinity. These issues are interpreted in a philosophical context. The text discusses God as Absolute Transcendence, Infinity, Totality and Love. At the same time, the author strives to establish a correspondence with the concepts of conventional theology on these four points.

Aspecte biblice privind complementaritatea dintre Sfânta Euharistie și slujirea filantropică

Viewed with the superficiality of the contemporary man, severely affected by the spirit of secularization, diakonia - in its sense of neighbour ministry, seems to be a relatively new element, recently included in the missionary work of the Church and at the same time, one of the challenges of confessing the faith. The roots of this diaconical work are, however, particularly deep, its primary source being the unlimited love shared with man by God. Sfânta Scriptură în teologia și viața Părintelui Sofronie Saharov

Starting from the assertion of Father Ioannis Romanidis, according to which the true interpreters of the Holy Scriptures are the seers of God, the main aim of this study is to demonstrate how two events from the Holy Scriptures were understood in the theology and life of Father Sophrony Sakharov. The central moment of his life is the meeting with Saint Silouan the Athonite in 1930, an event that will mark his entire spiritual life and will crown his later work at the monastery he founded in Essex, England. In 1993 Archimandrite Sophrony went to the eternal life, remaining known in the Orthodox Theology especially as the biographer and disciple of Saint Silouan. In order to understand the way of thinking of staretz Sophrony, I consider representatives the interpretation of two events from the Holy Scripture, the Sinaitic revelation and the prayer of the Saviour from the Gethsemane Garden. In his writings, Father Sophrony pays a special attention to the revelation of God to Moses because he personally lives in his life the meaning of the name I am who I am. This name shows that God is Threepersonal and nothing can exist without His will. In the garden of Gethsemane, the Savior prays for all mankind, which shows that such a prayer should be the model of human prayer. Therefore, every man is called to assemble into himself and into his prayers all the human nature, the entire Adam. Father Sophrony received as heritage from St. Silouan the hypostatic prayer that himself lived, making it known to the world through his life and writings

Dimensiunea ecumenică intrinsecă a Evangheliei. Adaptare cultural – lingvistică și motivație biblică la Irineu de Lyon

According to Irenaeus’ point of view, the Gospel is endowed with an intrinsic ecumenical dimension, because the teachings of the Gospel had to be preached all around the world. He was convinced of the necessity and the obligation of fulfilling the commandment left by Jesus to his Apostles and apprentices. Accordingly, Irenaeus was convinced of the necessity to evangelize all the people, and this necessity drew its source from the Gospel itself and from its ”divine empowerment”, the final purpose being the redemption of the entire humankind. The aim of the present study is to illustrate the evolution and the complexity of the ecumenical dimension of the Gospel and at the same time the theological evolution of one of the most representative Fathers of the first centuries, Saint Irenaeus of Lyon. He understood perfectly the power of dialogue and of pastoral mission, mission that was directed not only towards the Christians, who at that time were somewhat confused by the multitude of doctrines, but also towards the pagans to whom he presents the message of the Gospel about the love of Jesus Christ.

Țăranul, „icoana” sfințită prin jertă a poporului român și promotor al sacralității satului românesc

The present study, in accordance with the topic proposed by the Romanian Patriarchate for 2019 as a Homage Year for the Romanian Village (as well as for priests, teachers and honorable mayors) and the Commemorative Year of Patriarchs Nicodim Munteanu and Iustin Moisescu and also of religious books translators, is structured in three chapters. I chose this theme from my honest wish to express the profound structure the Romanian village, which, enigmatically, translates the language of pure love and of passionate yearning for the beauty of ancient village, by making a trip into the past. This journey to live again the unique moments of childhood, but most of all, to meet again the peasant of the Romanian village, the mirror of faith, culture and civilization of the Romanian people, is the main purpose of the present approch. Accordingly, the author tryes to emphasize the values of our national identity as much as those ar in accordance to authentic Christian consciousness, passed on over the ages through the Church, an axis mundi of the Romanian culture. The Romanian village is the holy altar to which our parents, our grandparents and our ancestors prayed and sacrificed themselves, the altar they have consecrated again and again for eternity, through their tears, an alive altar where the Living God has His dwelling place.

Prymat Biskupa Rzymu w ujęciu wspólnot eklezjalnych wyrosłych z reformacji

The article is a synthetic attempt at presenting the subject of the primacy of the Bishop of Rome from the perspective of church communities born out of the reformation. The Roman Catholic Church continuously asserts that the primacy of the Bishop of Rome is Christ’s gift to the Church as a necessary service for the sake of ecclesiastical unity. The realization of this service is carried out by performing the highest and universal teaching duty, entailing in some cases also the privilege of inerrancy, and the ecclesiastical duty necessary in order to strengthen and defend the unity of faith and ecclesiastical community. The Lutheran understanding of the primacy of Peter’s Successor can be found in the Symbolical Books of the Evangelical Lutheran Church and the document of the Catholic-Lutheran dialogue. This subject matter is present in the Augsburg Confession of 1530, the Smalcald Articles of 1537 and Treatise on the Power and Primacy of the Pope of 1537. In these publications belonging to the collection of the Symbolical Books of the Evangelical Lutheran Church the primacy of the Bishop of Rome is considered to be a human-made concept and a usurpation of divine authority. Dominant is the conviction regarding the need for rejecting the hierarchical structure of the Church. The Catholic-Lutheran dialogues undertaken after the Second Vatican Council highlighted the doctrinal differences regarding the nature and form of performing primacy, the existence of primacy succession, the origin of the position of Peter’s Successors (de iure divino or de iure humano), the jurisdiction of the Bishop of Rome over the Catholic Church. The ecumenical hope is born out of the common and mutual conviction about the need of continuing the bilateral dialogue on the service of primacy and the assertion that the primacy of Peter’s Successor should unequivocally serve the Gospel and the unity of the Church.

Concept of Ecumenism in the Eccleziology of the Kyiv Church of Byzantine Rite

The article reviewed the biblical principles of the unity of the Church of Christ. The ecumenical conception of the Kyiv Church of the Byzantine tradition, based on the writings of the hierarchs of the UGCC Andrei Sheptytsky, Joseph Slipy, Myroslav Ivan (Lubachivsky), Lubomyr Husar, and Svyatoslav Shevchuk, is analysed. In the context of the status of the Local Government in the Orthodox Church in Ukraine, the prospects of ecumenical dialogue between the two Ukrainian Churches are analysed, the purpose of which is to restore the identity inherent in the Kyiv Church. The dialogue between the Ukrainian Churches is being considered as part of the ecumenical movement towards the universal unity of the Church of Christ.

„Laboratorium dialogu” czyli o dialogowaniu w katechezie

Dialogue is one of the fundamental human relationships. It is also of particular importance in the life of the Church. The article tries to answer the question whether catechesis is a space for dialogue. It first shows the dialogue of salvation as a relationship between God and man. Then it presents the relationship of the Church to the world, which is a relationship of dialogue. Since catechesis is at the service of God’s dialogue of salvation and is an ecclesial ministry, it is therefore also dialogical. There is, however, a specificity of this dialogue, which is based on the spirituality of dialogue. This vision of catechesis is contained in the new Vatican Directory for Catechesis, which describes it as a „laboratory for dialogue”.

Referring to the reflections of Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński, the author points to those elements of the priest’s ministry which constitute the essence of being a good shepherd. It also deals with the subject of the relationship between pastoral work and loneliness, which – if lived well – leads to discovering oneself and experiencing closeness to God.

In the article, the author deals with justification of the historicity of – primacy of the bishop of Rome, which Paweł Lisicki presents in his apologia. The text consists of six parts. Its main axis is the reconstruction of Lisicki’s arguments. It consists of reasons that arise from archaeological research, the analysis of tradition and the interpretation of the New Testament texts. The author also presents methodological assumptions formulated by Lisicki. Finally, he draws conclusions from the perspective of fundamental theology.

Pośrednictwo Najświętszej Maryi Panny według kardynała Stefana Wyszyńskiego. Próba syntezy

The purpose of the article is to show how Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński taught on the mediation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The presentation is chronological. It covers three periods in the life and teaching of the Primate of the Millennium: before the Second Vatican Council, participation in the work of the Council and the post-conciliar period. The analysis of the texts shows the richness of approaches and some evolution in teaching. While before the Council it was dominated by showing Mary as the Mediatrix of all graces, during the Council and after the Council the teaching on the spiritual motherhood of Mary (Mother of the Church) comes first, and the issue of Mary’s mediation is an aspect of this motherhood. In addition, the thesis that the conciliar teaching on Mary’s participation in Christ’s only mediation is for Cardinal Wyszyński a theological foundation for showing Mary’s intercessory role and her distribution of graces seems justified. Cardinal Wyszyński, whose Episcopal motto was: Soli Deo per Mariam, was able to reconcile wisely the theological approach of the Council with pastoral practice. Thanks to this, his kerygmatic Mariology brought blessed fruits for the life of the Church in Poland.

Chrystologiczne aspekty w teologii św. Hieronima ze Strydonu

Jerome from Stridon, considered as a great exegete, translator and expert on the Holy Scriptures, has left his very clear mark also in dogmatic theology. One of the leading topics in his reflection about the faith is Christology. In fact, Christ indicates in the work of Jerome his interest in the Bible. Biblical and exegetical foundations are among the most important elements of this author’s Christology. They resulted in ontological decisions – formulated in a close context, as well as under the influence and dispute with contemporary representatives of Eastern Christology, just like the internal experiences of Jerome, in which his mystical experiences came together with the reality of the Holy Land bearing the traces of the life and work of Jesus Christ. All this contributed to the recluse life of the author of Vulgata and the strict monk asceticism, so that he would not only understand Jesus but also try to imitate Him. In addition, it quite naturally led to thorough Bible study and residence in Bethlehem. Ontological and Christological solutions Jerome prepared successively and continued in his writings and teaching.

Волята за мислене. Ролята на волевата част от душата в познавателния процес

The current paper is part of a broader research, which is dedicated to tracing a possible influence of medieval will theories in the development of epistemology. According to our hypothesis, the emphasis on the freedom and autonomy of the will by some Franciscan authors has led to introducing new topics into the epistemological field. In the current text, we try to trace a couple of novelties that authors like Peter John Olivi, John Duns Scotus or William of Ockham introduced. Topics as freedom of judgment, comparing notions and propositions, perfecting knowledge or choosing the object of knowledge are all areas of the epistemology, which were discussed in the context of the will’s participation in acquiring knowledge. We try to show how similar ideas were already present by earlier medieval authors like Augustine but received their specific terminology and more detailed treatment in the High Medieval Period.

Bioetyczny i teologicznomoralny wymiar zamrażania ludzkich embrionów

The article discusses the issues of cryopreservation of human embryos. The use of this technique is related to assisted procreation. The supernumerary embryos created in order to increase the effectiveness of the in vitro procedure are frozen so that they can be used in subsequent transfer attempts. The author presents the technical dimension of freezing and the risks associated with it. In the last part, the author analyzes the ethical dimension of these techniques. He emphasize that although assisted procreation is immoral itself, it is morally right to strive to correct this evil by the mother, who is ready to accept into her womb the thawed embryos. The adoption of abandoned embryos seems to be a good solution. However, this solution cannot be justified from the ethical point of view. If it is forced by law to defrost or terminate the contract by the clinic that stores the embryos, it is possible to consent to their death. The health condition of the embryos, which makes their development impossible, releases from the obligation to transfer. Moreover, it is immoral to select embryos by eugenics and transfer only those embryos that have the desired phenotypic or sex characteristics.

Architektura i sztuka liturgiczna jako antidotum na desakralizację. Studium twórczości artystycznej M.I. Rupnika SI

Contemporary architecture and sacred art have lost their original instinct in favor of illegible and ambiguous forms. In this way, sacred art, in a sense, sent the message to be a reality that helps man in contact with God, or, as the theorists of sacred art wanted, a tool that brings God down to earth. These tendencies are being remedied by Fr. Marko I. Rupnik, a Slovenian Jesuit, theologian and iconographer, founder of the Aletti Center – an institute of theology and art, promoting the idea of “the Christian breathing of two lungs”, combining the Eastern and Western traditions, which formed the doctrine of the undivided Church. The effect of Rupnik’s theological thought is liturgical art, which, inscribed in architecture, creates a space for human meeting with God.

Икономијска тријадологија: Иринеј Лионски, Тертулијан и Иполит

In this paper, I will try to present the idea of economic triadology as it appears in St. Irenaeus, Tertullian and St. Hippolytus, during conflicts with the modalists of their time. Through comparative analysis, I will strive to highlight the particularities of their learning as well as common motives and argumentation. I will also point out the major shortcomings of the triadology thus established, as well as the elements that the Church will recognize as an authentic expression of her own tradition.
