Summary/Abstract: Numerous skeletal remains (fossils) of steppe marmot (also called gray marmot) Marmota bobac (Müller, 1776) were collected at the paleolithic sites in the north and northwest of the Republic of Moldova. The most numerous being from the Duruitoarea Veche grotto – the beginning of the Upper Pleistocene and Brânzeni I – the Upper Pleistocene, Mesolithic and early Holocene.
