The category receptivity in contemporary Bulgarian

Summary/Abstract: The article provides a brief overview of various concepts related to the place of the grammaticalized meaning of evidentiality in the morphological system of contemporary Bulgarian. It is hypothesized that all witness and non-witness verb forms can be united under the two-member morphological category receptivity, based on the formal-semantic opposition witness : non-witness (where the core meaning of the unmarked member is distancing).
