Summary/Abstract: The anthropomorphic representations of the Cucuteni civilization are one of our best sources in the reconstruction of spiritual and social life of the people which created it. In the past few years many new books on this subject have been printed, but any new discovery represents a step forward in understanding this incredible rich category of artefacts. In this paper, the authors present thirty one anthropomorphic representations that have been found during surface research, made in some settlements from the former Baia County. Some of these settlements have been known for a long time, but continue to be destroyed by agricultural activities; others have been discovered only recently. Although missing the original context and thus stripped of important information related to their use and abandonment, the statuettes still carry important clues regarding the technique involved in their making. The rich decoration of some of these objects is a witness of the concepts regarding the personal beauty that the people of the Copper Age use to have. Last, but not least, the artefacts presented here prove that the techniques involved and the ideas they promoted cover large areas belonging to this civilization, showing the spiritual unity of this distant world.
