Summary/Abstract: Romanian education experienced a significant development after the reforms instituted during the reign of Alexandru Ioan Cuza. A modern system was implemented, which also included private institutions in the education system, including the Roman Catholic Boys' Primary School, established in 1879. The article presented the main aspects revealed by the archival documents regarding the teaching staff, legislation, objects of study and specific activities, many of them with an impact on the local community.
