Summary/Abstract: The development of the workers' movement in the city of Braila was also due in a certain period to the writer, journalist and trade unionist Panait Istrati. Due to his involvement in defending workers' rights, he was considered by contemporaries as a sympathizer and promoter of the socialist movement. In the article will be presented some milestones of his activity, which had a significant impact both in terms of relating to people from humble living backgrounds and in terms of professional life.
