Summary/Abstract: This study examined the short-term dynamics between Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Clean Energy Fuels, and WilderHill Clean Energy over the period from January 1, 2020, to May 30, 2023. Bitcoin saw substantial price fluctuations over 10 days, highlighting its inherent volatility and rapid shifts in value. In contrast, Ethereum and Litecoin showed more gradual fluctuations. The price movements of digital currencies exhibited a mix of positive and negative trends when compared to the Clean Energy Fuels and WilderHill indexes, suggesting a correlation with energy-related assets. Clean Energy Fuels had significant positive trends, hence emphasizing the inherent instability within the clean energy industry. The WilderHill Clean Energy index demonstrated moderate positive associations with Bitcoin and Clean Energy Fuels, while exhibiting dynamic variations with Litecoin. These findings offer valuable insights for investors seeking to build sustainable portfolios, offering guidance on how to adjust their strategies in the face of economic challenges.
